Varsity Practice: Personal Growth for Men

Wednesdays, 3:30–5:00 p.m.
Location: Erb Memorial Union
Facilitators: Dusty Destler and Arian Mobasser

Varsity Practice is a group for men wanting to develop greater awareness about themselves and how they relate to others. In this six-week group, facilitators and attendees support one another through struggles often experienced by young men, such as stress, anxiety, self-doubt, and loneliness. Group time is used to achieve greater awareness of thoughts and emotions, and devoted to identifying new strategies for connection with self and others. Through practice, group members may apply their new knowledge and ability to benefit their personal relationships and communities.

This program requires a pre-group orientation. Please complete the interest form.

Living the Questions

Who am I? How do I live my best life? What does it mean to be a good man? How can I help the men in my community to grow and thrive? Rather than providing you with answers, the Men's Resource Center (MRC) invites you to explore your own unique relationship to the intersection of identity, well-being, and various forms of masculinity. We believe that no one knows you better than yourself, and are committed to creating spaces in which you can be curious and courageous.

Get Connected

The MRC is home to a variety of opportunities through which students explore ways to better understand and support themselves, as well as others.

MRC in the EMU

Located on the top floor of the Erb Memorial Union, Room 211, the MRC provides students a respite from the day-to-day hustle of life on campus. Whether it's to play games, or just to rest and relax, all are welcome.

Movember for Men's Health

Each November, the MRC teams up with groups from all across campus to learn and share about issues related to men's health and well-being. Events include panel discussions, fitness competitions, and gaming parties, among many others.

Community Advocates

The Community Advocacy Program is a student-led initiative focused on building stronger community through connection. Students of all identities and experiences participate through outreach, mentorship, and various types of social events.
