Lavender Graduation Celebration 2024

Honoring 2SLGBTQIA3+ Graduates 

Join us on Saturday, June 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for UO’s 2024 Lavender Graduation Celebration. This year’s event, hosted in the EMU Ballroom, will be our time to come together as a community to celebrate the accomplishments, education, perseverance, resilience, leadership, and advocacy of UO 2SLGBTQIA3+ graduate and undergraduate students!

Doors open and food served at 10:30 a.m. Program begins at 11:00 a.m.

Please register no later than May 24, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. to participate in the graduation celebration.

LGBTESS Awards

The deadline for award nominations is Sunday, May 5.

Nominate Someone for LGBTESS Awards

During the Lavender Graduation Celebration, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Education and Support Services Office also awards a series of awards. Please note that all student awards are for Class of 2024 graduates. This year, those awards are: 

Outstanding 2SLGBTQIA3+ Undergraduate Student

This award recognizes a graduating 2SLGBTQIA3+ undergraduate student for their outstanding commitment to enrich the lives of those within our campus and community. The recipient of this award is a UO undergraduate student who has dedicated their time, passion, energy, and support to enhancing the UO community. 

Outstanding 2SLGBTQIA3+ Graduate Student

This award recognizes a graduating 2SLGBTQIA3+ graduate student for their outstanding commitment to enrich the lives of those within our campus and community. This recipient may have furthered academic knowledge in their field, advocated for the equity of 2SLGBTQIA3+ people, maintained leadership positions within UO, or positively impacted the institution through their involvement.

Lavender Leadership Award

This award recognizes a graduating student who has had an active and impactful presence in fostering a supportive and uplifting 2SLGBTQIA3+ campus community. 

Audre Lorde Intersectionality Award

This award recognizes a graduating student for their distinguishable efforts to emphasize that “we do not live single-issue lives” and to serve or support the 2SLGBTQIA3+ community with an intersectional lens.

Pride Award

This award recognizes a graduating student who lives their identity proudly. Exemplifying the best within themselves, their positive presence and accomplishments have been a shining example to inspire others to live fully and authentically in their gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation.

Outstanding Staff Member

This award recognizes a UO staff member for creating 2SLGBTQIA3+ inclusive environments and experiences and advocating for the equity of 2SLGBTQIA3+ people. The recipient of this award is a staff member who has contributed to bettering the lives and experiences of 2SLGBTQIA3+ individuals on and/or off campus.

Outstanding Faculty Member

This award recognizes a faculty member for offering 2SLGBTQIA3+ inclusive curriculum and classroom environments, advocating for 2SLGBTQIA3+ people, and/or advancing research which amplifies, celebrates, and/or advocates for the 2SLGBTQIA3+ community. The recipient of this award is a faculty member who has contributed to bettering the lives and experiences of 2SLGBTQIA3+ individuals on and/or off campus.
